If your app lets people create an account, Google Play requires a way to request deletion from the web — reachable without installing the app. Here is what that page needs.

Why a URL and not just an in-app button

Google Play requires both: a path inside the app, and a web address someone can use without the app installed. The reason is the case the in-app button cannot cover — a user who already deleted the app, or lost the device, still has an account with their data in it. The deadline ran out on 31 May 2024, and it has been enforced since.

What the page has to say

Which account it deletes, what gets deleted and what is kept, how long it takes, and how to make the request. If some data has to be kept — invoices for accounting, say — say so and say why. Silence there reads as an incomplete answer.

The mistake that fails review

A page that only says "email us to delete your account" without saying what happens next, or a page that requires signing in to read. It must be usable by someone who cannot sign in, because that is exactly the person the requirement exists for.

Apple asks for it too

Apps on the App Store that support account creation must let people initiate deletion from inside the app. A public page that explains the process complements that and is what your Play listing links to, so one page serves both.
