Report a Published Site

Sites published through Lanpage live on subdomains of lanpage.co. If one of them infringes your rights, impersonates you, or is being used to harm people, this is how to tell us, what we do about it, and what happens if the site is yours.

Where to send it

Email support@lanpage.co and put the word abuse in the subject line. A person reads every one of them, and you get an acknowledgement within 1 business day.

What to include

A report with a page address and nothing else is one we have to write back about before we can act, which costs a day for no reason.

  • The full address of the page, including the subdomain.
  • What specifically is wrong — quoted or linked — rather than the site as a whole.
  • What you are asking us to do about it.
  • Who you are and how to reach you.
  • If you are claiming an infringement: what you own, and how we can check that it is yours.

What we do with it

Content that is plainly unlawful comes down immediately. Everything else we look at ourselves, and where it is a dispute between you and the site's owner we tell them what was claimed, without passing on more about you than the claim requires, and give them a short period to respond before we decide. We tell you the outcome either way.

Reports we decline

A takedown is a real cost to whoever is publishing, so we do not act on a report we cannot check, and we do not act on one that is a disagreement rather than a violation. Sending a report you know to be false is itself a breach of the Acceptable Use Policy, and we stop reading the next one.

If your site was taken down

You get an email saying what was removed and why. Reply to it with a counter-statement: what the report got wrong, and why the content is yours to publish. A person reads it, and we restore the page when the report turns out to have been wrong. We keep the record on both sides, so an appeal is checked against what actually happened rather than against anyone's recollection.

Reporting the same account twice

A single claim upheld is not the end of an account. A pattern is: an account that repeatedly publishes content infringing other people's rights is closed, not merely trimmed. We keep the record of what was removed and why precisely so that "repeatedly" is something we can show rather than something we feel, and so the account holder can see the same list we are looking at.

Security problems are not abuse reports

If you have found a vulnerability in the platform itself, email security@lanpage.co before disclosing it publicly. We acknowledge within 1 business day and keep you informed while we fix it.

Emergencies

If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first, and then us. We can take a page offline within the hour; we cannot reach the person behind it, and the people who can should not be waiting on our reply.
