Fair Use Policy
Some plans describe a limit as "fair use" rather than as a number. This says what we mean by that, so it cannot be used as an excuse to move the line later.
Where fair use applies
Only to limits our plan page describes that way: the number of published apps on Pro, the number of FAQ entries on Pro, and monthly traffic. Every other limit is a number stated on the plan page and enforced exactly as written.
What it means
It means we have not set a number because almost nobody reaches one, and picking an arbitrary cap would penalise ordinary use to guard against a case we have not seen. It does not mean we may change our mind about your account without telling you.
What we consider unreasonable
Reselling Lanpage subdomains as a hosting product; publishing sites unrelated to a mobile app; automated bulk creation of apps; using published pages to serve files or redirects for something else; and traffic patterns that are plainly not human readers. None of these describe using the product for a lot of apps.
What happens if you cross a line
We write to you first, from a person, with what we saw and what we are asking for. You get a reasonable period to respond or adjust. We do not suspend a working site over usage without that conversation, except where content is illegal or the service itself is at risk.
What we will not do
We will not delete content, take a paid site offline without warning, or use this policy to charge a plan you did not agree to. If we ever conclude your usage needs a different plan, that is a conversation with a price attached, not a switch we flip.
Turning it into a number
If we do set a number for one of these limits, it goes on the plan page with an effective date, and existing accounts get notice before it applies to them. Fair use is a starting position, not a permanent vagueness.
Where fair use ends and abuse begins
This policy is about how much you use the product, and nothing else. Unlawful content, impersonation, or using a subdomain for something that is not an app you are shipping is not a volume question and gets no benefit of the doubt from this page. The Acceptable Use Policy covers that, and it is enforced on its own terms.
